Slow Wave Alpha 3.0 is composed of dietary supplements that help with balancing neurochemical levels and also essential vitamins and minerals that help increase rest and relaxation in order to improve sleep and sleep quality.

Slow Wave Alpha contains the nutrients taurine, Phenibut, L-theanine and melatonin. Phenibut, or β -Phenyl-γ-aminobutyric acid, is a derivative of GABA (gammaaminobutyric acid) and reported to help improve GABA levels. GABA is an inhibitory neurotransmitter that has been reported to be low in up to 30% of the insomnia population. Melatonin is a naturally occurring hormone produced in the brain that helps improve the sleep/wake cycle so maximum rest is achieved. Melatonin helps to reset the cortisol circadian rhythms. Sleep disturbance is thought to be what is known as a hyperarousal syndrome of the brain, in other words, the brain is too excited as a result of daytime activities and cannot appropriately decrease vigilance or excitability at night. L-theanine is isolated from green tea and helps with relaxation by improving brain alpha waves and decreasing the stimulating effects of glutamate by antagonizing receptor activation of glutamate. Taurine is an amino acid that helps support neurochemical balance, including GABA modulation and release.
