CoQnol (non-GMO Ubiquinol) 100mg softgels

Supercharge Your Cellular Energy

Ubiquinol CoQ10 absorbs up to 8 times better than ubiquinone CoQ10

Supports healthy heart function

May help with neurological conditions such as Parkinson’s disease

Supports healthy energy levels and reduce fatigue

May help decrease gingivitis

CoQnol is a non-GMO form of ubiquinol, which is the reduced, antioxidant form of CoQ10.  Both ubiquinone and ubiquinol are critical to the cellular ATP (energy) production cycle.  Without the presence of both ubiquinone and ubiquinol within the body's cells, cellular energy cannot be generated or sustained.  The ability to convert ubiquinone to ubiquinol may diminish with age and with increased oxidative stress in certain individuals.

Benefits at a Glance

  • Ubiquinol CoQ10 absorbs up to 8 times better than ubiquinone CoQ10
  • Promotes cellular energy production in heart, brain and muscle tissue
  • Provides superior cardiovascular and antioxidant support

CoQ10 for heart health and cellular energy

CoQ10 (or coenzyme Q10) is an essential nutrient your body requires for healthy mitochondrial function, a process that produces body energy at the cellular level.1 Because of this, it makes sense that CoQ10 is concentrated in high-energy organs such as your brain,2 liver, kidneys, and (most importantly) your heart.3,4

CoQ10 also has powerful antioxidant properties, protecting important proteins5 and mitochondrial DNA6 from oxidative damage.1 Unfortunately, CoQ10 levels in your body deplete over time.

Natural and unnatural causes of CoQ10 depletion

As we age, CoQ10 levels in our body naturally decrease. What’s more, popular statin drugs which are used to lower cholesterol, can also deplete CoQ10 levels in the blood and potentially in tissue.7,8

And while statins have been shown to reduce plasma CoQ10 by nearly 40%,9 the normal aging process may be even worse: reducing CoQ10 levels in the heart muscle wall by as much as 72%.10

Improved bioavailability: ubiquinol

The traditional form of CoQ10, ubiquinone, is difficult for the body to absorb. But another form, ubiquinol, has been shown to absorb up to 8 times greater than ubiquinone. That’s why we offer a highly bioavailable form of ubiquinol CoQ10 in a patented delivery system with superior absorption levels.

Ubiquinol form of CoQ10

It has been shown that 80-95% of circulating CoQ10 following oral ingestion of a ubiquinone supplement is in the form of ubiquinol.  However, there is evidence that suggests that the ability to convert ubiquinone to ubiquinol may diminish with age.  In fact, CoQ10 levels in the retina may decline by 40% with age. In studies performed on middle-aged mice, supplementing with ubiquinol proved to be effective in slowing the effects of degenerative processes that accelerate aging.

Plasma ubiquinol is also decreased with certain illnesses, asa seen in congestive heart failure (CHF).  Researchers at East Texas Medical Center found that patients with advanced CHF taking high doses of ubiquinone CoQ10 were not able to achieve adequate improvements in blood serum CoQ10 levels.  When switched to ubiquinol, blood CoQ10 levels improved dramatically with a consequential improvement in clinical symptoms and left ventricular function.

Who should take CoQnol form of CoQ10?

Supplementation with CoQnol is ideal for those who cannot efficiently convert ubiquinone into ubiquinol, and may help support the following:

  • Older individuals/People over 50
  • Hyperlipidemia, including those on statin therapy (statin drugs are known to lower CoQ10 levels)
  • Liver disease
  • Mitochondrial disorders
  • Congestive heart failure
  • Aging
  • Genetic CoQ10 deficiencies
  • Exercise intolerance

Some common prescription drugs shown to deplete CoQ10 include:

  • Beta blockers
  • Metformin
  • Clonidine
  • Gemfibrozil
  • Statin drugs
  • Hydralazine
  • Phenothiazines
  • Sulfonylureas

Consider initially supplementing with 200-300mg of CoQnol per day.  After one month, 100mg per day is recommended as a good maintenance dose.
